Phoenix Academy in London offers its students a world-class education and exceptional co-curricular and career opportunities, designed to help them on their journey to success. The school’s motto of “freedom through education” is at the heart of its programme, reflecting a commitment to helping students chose their own direction and pursue the life they want in an increasingly complex world.
An Inclusive Community
With an engaging education delivered through a knowledge-rich curriculum, strong pastoral support system and diverse extracurricular and cultural opportunities, Phoenix Academy welcomes children ages 11 to 18 into its inclusive community. The school is sponsored by Future Academies, a multi-academy trust founded by Lord John Nash, and shares the Trust’s values of knowledge, aspiration and respect.

An Accessible and Engaging Curriculum
Cognitive science and leading educational research form the foundation of Future Academies’ curricula. Although Phoenix Academy includes some widely available programmes in its curriculum, most are developed by subject experts at the Trust’s Curriculum Centre. Prioritising academic rigor, accessibility, efficacy, and engagement across students of all levels, curriculum design follows a memory-focused approach that leverages knowledge sequencing and revisitation to help students retain learning over time.
Excellent Careers Education
Committed to preparing young people to manage their futures and take on life’s responsibilities, experiences and opportunities, Phoenix Academy offers comprehensive careers education. Its structured programme supports pupils in exploring their interests and accumulating the experience needed for sustainable employment and a fulfilling career path. Access to information, advice, and guidance are key components of the programme, empowering students to make informed career choices and promoting equality, diversity and social mobility. It also aims to challenge stereotypes and raise aspirations.
Record-Breaking Qualifications Performance
In summer 2025, Phoenix Academy achieved record-breaking GCSE and A-level outcomes. The former placed the academy within the nation’s top 3% of schools and marked the highest results across Phoenix Academy’s 70-year history. Results by progress in maths and science reflected particular success: half of all students earned a grade 7 or higher in chemistry and biology. In terms of A-level results, 25% of students achieved entirely A and A* grades and nearly 60% received A* to B.
“Outstanding” Ofsted Grades

The inspection report noted interest among students in making the most of opportunities offered by the academy, as well as high motivation to do well. It also disclosed exemplarily behaviour among students, with pupils listening carefully to teachers and each other and rarely disrupting lessons.
